About Andaman

The Andaman Islands are an Indian archipelago in the Bay of Bengal. These roughly 300 islands are known for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests. Coral reefs supporting marine life such as sharks and rays make for popular diving and snorkeling sites. Indigenous Andaman Islanders inhabit the more remote islands, many of which are off limits to visitors.

Andaman is safe and very beautiful. You will land at Port Blair where one can easily find cheap accommodation and the transportation is also fairly cheap. People are very friendly. There is a lot of government security, since this place is of strategic importance in terms of National Security.

The temperature will be humid for obvious reasons. But this place is definitely worth going and is very safe.

Day -2 and 3 HAVELOCK:

We went to Havelock from port balir by Mackruzz . Its 2 hour journey.  We  should reach the cruise point atleast half an hour before .

It’s known for its dive sites and beaches, like Elephant Beach, with its coral reefs. Crescent-shaped Radhanagar Beach is a popular spot for watching the sunset.

ELEPHANT BEACH:

Usually Elephant beach is visited through boat, however for people who wish to get immersed in the beauty of the islands we suggest trekking to the Elephant beach.

Here are some pictures from trekking

Once you reach Elephant beach you rest and make yourself comfortable. Later you can indulge in , scuba Diving ,Snorkeling , jetski , banana ride ,activity by paying at the spot based upon your interest.

SCUBA DIVING:

The experience was suberb.

Initially, we were very excited. It was going to be my first ever underwater experience. As per terms we filled a form(which included details of our medical history), submitted 4000 Indian rupees as part of scuba cost(which included taking pictures and videos inside the water), placed our stuff in lockers (which were available for 50 Indian rupees) and moved towards the sea. There were many people, and each of us provided with a separate instructor. Once the instructor called us in the water, we became nervous. He provided some initial training to perform inside the water and pulled us into the water to practice the breathing using oxygen cylinders. I was not able to breathe and freaked out completely. He then patiently taught me about the techniques used inside the water. The breathing is a little tricky, but I learned in few practices. After around 10 minutes of practice and teaching, the instructors took us inside the water for the actual diving. The temperature was moderate. The water was calm and clear. Neither I was a trained diver, nor I know how to swim still; I was comfortable inside the water. I was weightless and could float effortlessly.  While diving in, I also felt like a mermaid, twisting and turning as smoothly as Ariel used to do. I started seeing corals; there were varieties of them. I was in around 20 feet crystal clear water and could easily see multiple small, tiny, colorful fishes like Nemo, Parrot fishes, etc. along with other marine species and was amazed seeing such beautiful species underwater. Different varieties of fishes were swimming near me. I even tried touching a few of them but failed. Everything moved slowly, and I never realized how the time passed when I was inside the water. I was there for about 45 minutes and felt like staying there for more. It was a fantastic adventurous feeling to be inside the water. There were times I felt pressure in my ears, which was pretty common.

RADHA NAGAR BEACH :

Radhanagar Beach is located about 10 kilometers away from Havelock Jetty, the place where you arrive at in Havelock Island. From there, one can hire a rickshaw or a cab towards the beach.

Counted among the most beautiful beaches of Asia, Radhanagar Beach or Beach No. 7 is incredibly astounding beach located on the gorgeous Andaman Island.

Here are Some Pictures from Radhanagar Beach.

Day -4 (Neil Island)  :

From Havelock to Niel we should go by jetty . Reach the jetty point half an hour before.

Places to visit in Neil
a) Natural Bridge
b) Bharatpur beach
b)Laxman pur beach 2 (before sunset)

Neil Island is famous for its unexploited coral reefs, magnificent biodiversity, white sandy beaches and its greenery i.e. covered with beautiful tropical forest and vegetation. ... Its natives named its beaches from characters from the historical epic Ramayana; Bharatpur, Laxmanpur, Sitapur, Ramanagar and much more.

Here are some pictures from Niel.
